Acme No. 263 Windmaster Bird Call Whistle
This versatile whistle can produce a storm, a breeze, the wind whistling around a building, the chugging of a steam train, as well as multiple bird effects! The Sky Woodland Jay makes an unmistakable screaming call when on the move. And the Magpie is famous for its chatter. Here’s a quick tutorial for several sound effects you can make on the Windmaster.
Magpie: Cup your hand around the bowl to muffle the sound and “spit blow” hard to create chatter.
Jay: Make two or three long but sharp blows. It produces the hiss of the jay.
Steam Train Effect: Use short, sharp, rhythmic blows. Start slowly, then increase in speed to mimic the train pulling away from the station.
Steam Train Whistle: After mastering the steam train effect, put one finger into half the hole in the bowl. A long, drawn-out blow produces a train whistle.
Wind Sound Effect: Use a long, drawn-out blow while varying the breath pressure to sound like gusting wind.
